The Beverley Lewis Safe House
- a refuge for women with Learning Disabilities.

The Beverley Lewis House is a Safe House for Women with learning disabilities who feel frightened, or are being treated in a bad way and want it to stop.

If you are being or have been attacked or treated in a bad way you can do something about it.


You can telephone Beverley Lewis House and can speak to a woman worker

or you could ask a social worker or a friend to do it for you.

We can arrange to meet you about living in a Safe House.

You need Social Services to agree to pay for your place at the Safe House before you can move in.

You can stay at the Safe House until you find your own safe home ( up to 2 years)

If you come and live in the Safe House

You will live with other women who have also been attacked , or who have been treated in a bad way.

You can be on your own when you want to.

There will be women workers who can help you learn to do more things for yourself , like:


Using money.

Speaking up for yourself.

We can find a counsellor who you will be able to talk to about your problems.

For the safe house to be safe the address has to be kept confidential. This means that you cannot tell your family or your friends where you are living.
