Powerhouse Jobs

We are a charity in East London run by and for women with learning difficulties. We run empowering workshops on healthy eating, independent living and life skills, providing advocacy and peer-support to our members. We have a dynamic team of staff and volunteers who are committed to the goals of the organisation.

We are currently recruiting for a new Part- Time Project Manager (paid) and Management Committee Members (voluntary). This is an exciting opportunity for someone to work in a small and dedicated team and take the organisation forward. We are looking for inspirational leaders, with strong management and fundraising skills taking the Powerhouse into the next stage of its growth and ensuring financial sustainability. This will include overseeing partnerships, health and safety, monitoring and evaluation and marketing whilst working within Powerhouse’s policies and procedures.

Project Manager

Hours: 14 hrs per week to be worked on Monday and/or Wednesday

Salary: £10-14/ hour depending on experience

Powerhouse is a charity based in Canning Town, working towards the empowerment of women with learning difficulties. We are looking for a part-time administrator who is a self-starter with a positive attitude, and a commitment to the improving the lives of people with learning difficulties. The position involves overseeing the day to day running of the office, financial administration, supporting staff and the groups and administrative duties required for the management committee.

This position is open to women only and is exempt under the Sex Discrimination Act Section 7.2 (e).

Management Committee Member

We are looking for a team of dedicated women to join our Management Committee. This is a chance to be part of an enthusiastic and committed team and to contribute to the women's movement.

The Powerhouse is member-led which means that women with learning difficulties are also on the Management Committee.

Volunteers

We are also looking for volunteers to help support us in our weekly sessions and also help us organise trips into the community.The person must be female, friendly and have an understanding of learning difficulties.

A CRB check will be required. We also provide training opportunities and personal development.

If you have any other kind of skill and want to get involved then we want to hear from you! We are looking for skills in the following area:
• Fundraising
• Finances
• Admin
• Marketing
• Training
